Love Restoration works in partnership with Mercy Rains Africa, an organization registered as a 501c3 in the USA, to see its vision and mission to fruition
Building Futures: The Love Restoration Story

Gilbert Mfitundinda overcame poverty as a sponsored child through Compassion International, earning a university degree in IT and a Master of Arts in Organizational Leadership from Eastern University, Pennsylvania. Today, his passion is giving back—focusing on Love Restoration’s most important beneficiaries: the children.
With his brother, Edward, a teacher then and now the second Head of Education in Kisoro District, they started a two-room private Christian school, covering teachers’ salaries and providing education to the community. What began with 20 students has grown to 340, with Love Restoration also providing food, clean water, and medical care to support the children’s well-being.
In 2017, Love Restoration moved from a rental facility to a new campus, quickly outgrowing it. They then acquired more land and launched a three-phase construction plan at a different site to build improved facilities for both children and staff members. The plan is now on Phase Two, constructing Gahuzamiryango—a space featuring a kitchen, lunchroom, and multipurpose hall for events. As of mid-2025, at least five classrooms have been relocated to the new site, with the goal of moving all primary and nursery classes there. The old campus will then be repurposed into a trade school, expanding opportunities for the community.
Today, Love Restoration employs twenty full-time staff members and is advised by a knowledgeable board in Uganda and the USA, working together to provide quality education and care for the children.
Love Restoration continues to pursue collaborative partnerships with individuals, businesses, churches, and community leaders to empower communities and transform children’s lives.
